Privacy Policy

SimplyTrack is built on a simple principle: your financial data belongs to you and only you. This privacy policy explains what data SimplyTrack handles, where it's stored, and what we have access to. The short answer: your data stays on your device, and we have access to none of it.

What Data SimplyTrack Stores

SimplyTrack stores the subscription information you manually enter — service names, prices, renewal dates, categories, and notes. This data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). It is not transmitted to any server, database, or third party.

If you are signed into Chrome with a Google account, Chrome may sync this local storage data across your devices through Google's own sync infrastructure. This is a Chrome platform feature, not something SimplyTrack controls. You can manage Chrome sync in your browser settings.

What Data We Collect

None.

SimplyTrack does not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal data. There is no server to send data to. There is no analytics service tracking your usage. There is no account system recording your email or identity.

To be explicit:

  • —No personal information is collected (name, email, address, phone — none)
  • —No financial data is transmitted (bank accounts, credit cards, transaction history — we never see any of it)
  • —No usage analytics are collected (we don't know how often you open the extension, what features you use, or how many subscriptions you track)
  • —No browsing data is accessed (we don't read your browsing history, open tabs, or webpage content)
  • —No cookies are set by the extension
  • —No third-party services receive any data from SimplyTrack

Chrome Permissions

SimplyTrack requests three browser permissions:

  • —storage: To save your subscription data locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
  • —alarms: To schedule periodic checks for upcoming renewals (runs every 12 hours in the background).
  • —notifications: To display Chrome desktop notifications reminding you of upcoming subscription renewals.

SimplyTrack does NOT request permissions for: tabs, browsing history, active tab content, bookmarks, downloads, or any form of webpage access. The extension has no content scripts and cannot see or interact with any website you visit.

Third-Party Services

SimplyTrack uses no third-party services. There are no analytics providers, no advertising networks, no crash reporting tools, no A/B testing platforms, and no data processors of any kind.

The Landing Page (simplytrack.pro)

The SimplyTrack website (simplytrack.pro) is a static site hosted on Vercel. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not have forms or account creation. Vercel may collect anonymous, aggregated server logs (IP addresses, page views) as part of standard web hosting. SimplyTrack does not access or process these logs. Data Portability

You can export all your subscription data at any time in JSON or CSV format using the Export feature in SimplyTrack's Settings. Your data is yours — you can take it and leave whenever you want.

Data Deletion

To delete all data stored by SimplyTrack:

  • —Use the "Delete all data" option in SimplyTrack Settings, or
  • —Uninstall the extension from Chrome (all extension data is automatically removed)

There is no data on our servers to delete because there are no servers.

Children's Privacy

SimplyTrack does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). Since SimplyTrack collects no data from anyone, this is inherently satisfied.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at simplytrack.pro/privacy with a new effective date. Since SimplyTrack has no account system or email list, we cannot notify users directly — but the extension's About section in Settings will always link to the current policy.
